Days 6-9

The last four days were pretty busy days in which we had the opportunity to visit Mystic Seaport, a place where we learned more about whaling and the roles of the men that went in the whaling ships. We went inside of the Charles W. Morgan, which was the last whaling ship. We could see the 4th of July fireworks while we were anchored in our way to Provincetown. The last whole day that we spent in the Lady Maryland, the watches had a competition known as the Schooner Olympics, in which each watch had to prove that they can work as a team and sail a ship. That was really fun! And at the end of the Olympics we finally went to the Whale Watch in Provincetown. We saw 5 Humpback and 2 Fin whales. Before coming back to Baltimore, we spent a night in the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where we hanged out with our fellows (Whales 2), who were going to aboard the Lady Maryland the next day. J This trip was awesome, we learned to sail, we learned the importance of estuaries and marine organisms, we met new people from different countries and we had a lot of fun! We are going to miss the crew and the Lady Maryland!
