Yesterday was an incredible day. We reached New Bedford in the morning and docked for 2 hours while we were visiting the New Bedford Whaling Museum. We were all so impressed with the museum and all it taught us about. We got to see whale skeletons, "enjoy" the rancid smell of whale oil, saw an entire exhibit on knots, and got to walk on a 1/2 scale model of a very lucrative whaling ship. After spending a very enjoyable morning in New Bedford we sailed on for 6 hours to our next destination. The
Lady Maryland crew told us it was the best sailing they had experienced all summer- the weather was perfect! At night, we got to carve our own scrimshaw- just like we saw at the museum! This morning we look forward to another day of sailing and our last couple of days on the beautiful
Lady Maryland :)
